Flooded house in Washington, UT
Saving wood floors after supply line break.
SERVPRO of St. George was called to help with this damaged home after a faulty dishwasher caused this water damage. The homeowners thought the floor was destroyed and needed to be removed. The project manager of SERVPRO assured them that the floors could be saved.
Wood floors are tricky to save but with the right experience they can look as good as new. As wood takes on water it will either crown or cup. The picture shows wood cupping to the point of lifting off the floor. But when the floor is dried correctly the wood will lay down again.
Our technicians finished the flooring, drywall, painting, and repaired electrical issues in the home.
